Endangered Species Day Celebration!

Come celebrate the park's endangered species at an Endangered Species Day Celebration on Sunday, May 18 from 11:30am-1:30pm!  We'll have informational displays about the GGNRA's work to protect these endangered species and the special places they call home. We'll go on a naturalist-led hike to search for the endangered tidewater goby, a small, nest-building fish that calls the GGNRA's Rodeo Lagoon home! Free snacks and drinks for the whole family. Click here for directions, or take the Muni Bus #76 to Rodeo Lagoon. The event is free!

The 2008 Golden Gate National Recreation Area Endangered Species Big Year is a race against time to see and save each of the Park's endangered species.

The GGNRA contains more endangered species than any other national park in continental North America: more than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Kings Canyon, & Sequoia National Parks combined.  This is both cause for celebration and concern, and the 2008 GGNRA Endangered Species Big Year is your chance to learn more about these incredible species while helping them recover.
